The Mount Vernon Bulldogs used a flurry of late three pointers to capture a road victory over the Anacortes Seahawks, 73-68, in overtime, Thursday night, in a battle of Northwest Conference title contenders.
Bulldog juniors, Baron Dorsey and Xavier Neyens keyed the late rally by drilling six 3-point shots in the fourth quarter and overtime, as the Bulldogs overcame a 10-point deficit with five minutes left in regulation.
Senior Quinn Swanson led the Bulldogs with 31 points, with 15 of those coming in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Junior Davis Fogle led the Seahawks with 38 points. He scored 31 of his 38 after halftime.
The Seahawks (2-1/2-1) will host Stanwood on Monday, while the Bulldogs (3-1/6-1) will get a visit from the Lakewood Cougars on Tuesday.
