Lynden Christian 69, Kings 57

The last time they played a game was state championship night, 2023. They met again on Saturday in the first game of the year for both teams. Even without two starters, the Lyncs came away with a 69-52 victory over the Knights.

With Jeremiah Wright recovering from a football injury, and Kayden Stuit on a football recruiting trip, senior guard Dawson Bouma poured in 29 points to lead the Lyncs offense. He continually maneuvered his way to the rim, scoring 18 of his 29 in the second half.

Junior guard Gannon Dykstra scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half. The Lyncs led for nearly the entire game, falling behind by one point late in the third quarter, but the Knights lead was short lived.

The Lyncs next game will be at Burlington-Edison on Tuesday.
