Meridian 63, Burlington-Edison 61

The Meridian Trojans got 30 points from junior guard Talon Jenkins, as the Trojans held on for a 63-61 win over the Burlington-Edison Tigers, Monday night in the Trojans gym.

After the Tigers took a 25-20 halftime lead, Jenkins scored on a lay in early in the third quarter, and followed that with six straight 3-pointers, going off for 20 points in the quarter.

The Trojans led 54-47 with 4:50 to play, but the Tigers made it interesting.  Though they never regained the lead, the Tigers got as close as one point with 3:30 to play, and were still within a bucket in the final minute.  The Tigers turned the ball over while working for the last shot in the final seconds.

The Trojans also got ten points each from senior guard Taran Burks and senior forward Christian Clawson.

Senior guard Rex Wilson, scored 16 of his 19 points in the second half for the Tigers.  Sophomore Logan Heigert and junior post Tim Feskov scored 13 points each, while junior guard Spencer Betz added 12.

Meridian (2-3/7-4) plays at Mount Vernon (5-1/9-2) on Thursday.  The Tigers (1-5/5-7) host Mount Baker (1-5/3-7) on Saturday.
