The Mount Vernon gym was filled with fans and emotions Friday night, and before it was over, the Bulldogs filled the nets with 15 3-point shots enroute to an 89-47 victory over the Burlington-Edison Tigers in the annual “Battle of the Bridge” rivalry game.
Bulldog junior wing, Xavier Neyens connected on seven threes on the night and scored 24 points. Junior guard Baron Dorsey netted six threes for 18 points, and senior guard Quinn Swanson scored 16 of his 19 points in the first half.
The Tigers were led by the twelve points of senior guard Rex Wilson. Sophomore forward Logan Heigert and junior guard Spencer Bets added ten points each.
On Monday, the Tigers (0-2/2-3) will host Anacortes in the “Tiger-Hawk Challenge,” while the Bulldogs (2-0/5-0) will be at Lynden Christian.
